Attendance Percentage = (Total Attended days/Total working days)*100
Period of Cyclic Exams

Total Periods
25+20+24 = 69
23+18+22 = 63
Total Attendance Percentage
(63/69)*100 = 91.3%

81-85%
2 Mark
86-90%
3 Mark

96-100%
5 Mark

Final Internal Mark Calculation Method:
INTERNAL ASSESSMENT TEST
MARKS OBTAINED (OUT OF 100)
INTERNAL MARK CONVERSION (OUT OF 5)
INTERNAL ASSESSMENT EXAM 1 MARKS
95
(95/100)*5 = 4.75 = 4.75
INTERNAL ASSESSMENT EXAM 2 MARKS
74
(74/100)*5 = 3.7 = 3.7
INTERNAL ASSESSMENT EXAM 3 MARKS
58
(58/100)*5=2.9 = 2.9
TOTAL INTERNAL MARK
4.75+3.7+2.9 = 11.35

Final Internal Marks:
By this above example , Total Internal Mark is (11.35+4) = 15.35 , (Max round off to 16)

A student need to take at-least 14 marks out of 20 to get pass in internal. If you get below 14 internal marks for any subject, then that subject will be considered as fail even if you take 100 marks in university examination.

  5. Anna univ. Internal mark calculation:

3 Internal TEST is divided by 20(any one subject).

    Eg: DSP subject,
    1st internal - 80
    2nd internal-90
    3rd internal-80
    80+90+80 =250
    250 / 20 = 12.5 out of 15..

    If 3 TEST means,
    (300 /20) = 15
    Then,
    remaining 5 marks for Attendance...

In official www.annauniv.edu website , under 2008 regulation pdf , at clause 13.1.2 it says as follows :

13.1.2 The internal assessment marks obtained by the candidate in the first appearance shall be
retained and considered valid for all subsequent attempts till the candidate secure a
    pass.

However, from the 3rd attempt onwards if a candidate fails to obtain pass marks (IA + End
Semester Examination) as per clause 13.1 then the passing requirement shall be as
    follows:

The candidate should secure 50% and above the maximum marks prescribed for course
in the university examinations alone irrespective of Internal Assessment marks obtained.

Please explain the above 13.1.2 clause .

Is this true . . . ? Will the student have to score 62.5 or above to pass the paper after 3 attempts ?

If internal marks are not calculated then the passsing mark for the subject would be 62.5 .
    50/100 = 62.5/100 ( When 100 marks is converted into 80 )

If YES , is the current exam ( first appearence for that particular exam ) also considered as attempt ?
Or three attempts calulated when re-appearing for arrears fot that particular subject ?

Please clarify this doubt . . A lot of students are not clear or aware about this ! If this is true then students will
need to work harder to clear their papers !

  7. This new method for calculating internal marks is confusing. If getting below 14 in internals is considered fail regardless of theory exam performance, then for the second attempt also it will be fail only. Bcoz they are not going to allot internal marks for second or third attempt. the same mark is only considered. then the result will be fail every time. so what is the solution for this?

  8. this new method of internal mark is confusing. if 14 out of 20 is required for passing irrespective of theory exam marks (in the univ exam) then for all attempts the internal is going to be failing and student can never pass. that if first time the student gets 50/80 but 13/20 in internals then it is fail as the internals is less than 14. same way in the second attempt also the same internal mark is taken into account. then result is again fail. so what will be the solution for this?
