The rise of e-commerce has radically transformed the way the world does business at every imaginable level—from the small businesses taking their first hesitant step into the online marketplace to the cut and thrust of global competition, where the biggest online players vie to dominate the market.

E-commerce has completely changed the way what customers seek and how they buy. Consequently, those businesses that wish to remain profitable are changing their marketing methods to respond to this transformation in their customer’s buying habits.

Traditional forms of marketing such as newspaper and television advertising, direct mail and cold calling simply do not integrate well with the powerful medium of the Internet and have become less and less effective as a result. E-commerce has benefitted both, businesses and consumers, by dramatically reducing transaction cost.

Any organization that wants to succeed in the new e-commerce driven marketplace must create an integrated approach, a strategy for marketing that fuses together limited traditional methods with the multi-faceted approaches of online marketing.

The 6th National Marketing Conclave, at KIIT School of Management, intends to discuss the present and future of e-commerce, vast increase in popularity of internet, changing dynamics of communication mediums, the role of financial enablers in ecommerce and how companies are adapting to this paradigm shift in marketing, distribution and payment processes.
